NEW 2026/9/26  Making Food Replicas

We created our own parfaits of food replica!
The food replica is a unique part of Japanese culture that is commonly seen in throughout the restaurants in Japan, which help customers easily understand what dishes look like and to present the food in a menu attractive and appetizing way.
The instructor was Ms. Kyoko Ando from Ando Food Model Factory.

Now let’s start it!

Look at this! There is so much variety.
There are fruits, ice cream, chocolate, and more. I’m so excited!
Although I cannot eat it, I feel like eating.
All of them look tasty.

At first, let’s choose sponge cake and jerry.
“How do you like this color combination?”
Everyone looks like they are having a great time.

Next, let’s squeeze the whipped cream.
It’s also not real, but I can’t believe it! I feel like I had become a professional.

Now, it’s time to decorate fruits and ice cream on it!
“Where is the best position to put on this strawberry?”
“How about this ice cream?”
“Do you think it would be better to add a little bit more fruits?”
We are creating our original parfait through lively conversation.

I’m trying making it step by step to look delicious and cute taking overall balance into account.
Even though we use same materials, every work looks quite different.

Finally, let’s put the fruit sauce on the parfait!
I’m still surprised that it’s not real.
Do you want to take a bite? It looks tasty, doesn’t it?

In hindsight, I haven’t had an opportunity to make food replica, and this workshop was rare experience.

I really enjoyed making my original replica’s parfait.
It became a wonderful memory.

Thank you very much Ms. Ando!
Thank you very much for your participation!
