Sea shell Hina doll making experience

Create Unique Sea Shell Hina Dolls!

Dive into the beauty of Japanese craftsmanship with our “Sea Shell Hina Doll Workshop“, led by our instructor Michiyo Nambu.

She is passionate about sustainability and traditional arts, she transforms vintage kimono fabrics into charming handmade creations, blending creativity with SDGs principles!

In this workshop, we used kimono fabric scraps and seashells to create adorable Hina dolls.

Hina dolls are traditional Japanese dolls displayed on a tiered stand during the Hina Matsuri (Girls’ Day) festival on March 3rd, symbolizing wishes for girls’ health and happiness.

We started by choosing a seashell curated by Nanbu sensei, enjoyed pairing colors and patterns for the kimono.

Add charming facial expressions and give each doll a unique personality with hand-drawn features.

Finish by placing a pearl inside to complete your creation.

Let your creativity shine as you craft one-of-a-kind hina dolls that carry the gentle sound of pearls within.

It’s more than a workshop—it’s a memory to cherish!

Join us this workshop and bring home a piece of Japanese culture!
