Wadaiko Experience-Japanese Taiko Drumming-

Experience the Spirit of Japanese Taiko Drumming!

At our recent Japanese cultural workshop featuring Wadaiko-Japanese Taiko Drumming-, more than 10 participants, including international guests, joined us for a high-energy event full of excitement and cultural discovery!

The workshop was led by Tetsuro Suzuki and his group TSUWAMONO Sai, a dynamic ensemble showcasing traditional Japanese arts through performances across Aichi and beyond.

We started by learning about the instruments, listening to their unique sounds. Next, the group performed two incredible pieces: the lively “Soran Bushi” and their original composition, “Raku.” The powerful rhythms of the taiko, shamisen, and shinobue captivated everyone, sparking excitement to try it out firsthand.

During practice, participants learned basic techniques, rhythm patterns, and posture, gradually building up to perform “Raku” as a group. With guidance from TSUWAMONO Sai, everyone improved step by step, feeling the joy of mastering the drums.

Finally, we split into two teams for a performance showcase. They delivered a lively, rhythmic performance with smiles all around! The sense of accomplishment was palpable!

Thank you to all the participants and TSUWAMONO Sai for a memorable day. Through taiko drumming, we felt a deep connection to Japanese culture and the power of unity through rhythm.

Why not join us next time and experience the allure of taiko for yourself?
